About Jason Cameron

Jason is a Licensed Home Improvement Contractor, Finish Carpenter, Personal Trainer, Writer, Actor, TV Personality, Fitness Model and a national spokesman for Men’s Fitness Magazine.

A native of Toledo, Ohio, Jason Cameron is experienced in carpentry and home remodeling, as well as being an outdoorsman and sportsman. Growing up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with his two brothers, Jason learned at a young age the true value of a hard day’s labor. Jason worked his way through college as a DIY Network’s JASON CAMERON carpenter while attending Northern Michigan University. He moved to New York City in 1999 to pursue an acting career. Jason met his wife Maryanne and together they purchased and completely renovated a condominium in a building that was built in 1901. While living in New Jersey, Jason obtained his Home Improvement Contractors License, which he used along with his finish carpentry skills to help make ends meet.

Jason Cameron has worked as a Fitness Model and Spokesman for Men’s Health Magazine and he has appeared on the pages of Men’s Health, Men’s Fitness, Maxim, and GQ and was on the cover of Muscle Media. Jason has also enjoyed small screen success appearing on, Sex and the City, Guiding Light and All My Children, as well as appearing in a national Zip Lock commercial. He is a familiar face to home improvement fans, having been lead carpenter on the TLC series, “While You Were Out”, for 3 years. Jason is currently enjoying his role as Host of DIY Networks “Desperate Landscapes” and “Man Caves“. Jason feels that DIY Network is the perfect home for him because they care as much for home improvement and empowering people as he does.

Jason is also certified as a personal trainer, specializing in strength and conditioning. In his spare time, Jason enjoys reading, working out at the gym, mountain biking, hiking, playing volleyball and basketball, and of course, doing carpentry projects. He currently resides with his wife, Mary Ann, in New Jersey.
